Free & Co.

@ The Boardwalk, Sheffield

Recorded in the late 90’s and early 2000, these tracks were a landmark in recording for us at the studio. At the time we just had our basic Behringer desk, a few good mics and some TL Audio valve outboard units.

We used the band’s own equipment – an original 70′ Ludwig silver sparkle kit, vintage Marshall and Fender valve amps. The guitars used were a Les Paul – “The Paul Deluxe”, a 1982 JV Stratocaster and 5-string Musicman bass. On ‘Be Me Friend‘ the keys are covered by a session player. Oh and don’t forget – a ‘Curly Lead’ or two.

The end result is a great mix of old and new sounds, capturing the vintage feel of the Free & Co. tribute to FREE & Bad Co- two of the finest rock bands ever. Hope you like them.
